      It appears that in /opt/retropie/configs/n64/InputsAutoCfg.ini that under the relevant controller there was no entry for B button, and A button was incorrect. I edited this manually to correct for this, but I still get the same problem when i run the emulator - e.g., my attempted fix makes no difference to how it actually performs!

      Hey bud, we are in the same boat. Run jstest and write down all the inputs and corresponding numbers. Use your Rii to hit f1 while in lr-mupen64plus-next to open the retroarch GUI and scroll down to "controls", then remap everything according to you jstest results. This got me to the point where every button works except for c-up and c-right. Please let me know if you can get any further or if you've already solved the issue.

      Not sure how to access this retroarch menu?

      Hotkey+x will open the retroarch menu while youre in game. Then go to controls and remap as you like and then you can save it as a core remap. Remapping here won't influence your mappings in the standalone emulator because it doesn't use the retroarch controls.

      I don't know which emulator are you using for N64 and on what system, but what you're looking for is described din the Docs.

      Simple comment. I had the same issue but my lowerBound had to be fix to value 490. It's important to check the value when your stick go back in place. My left stick showed a value of 491 when It came back from left to center. Now, Everything's working fine

      I suggest to use joy.cpl to find It.

      So my problem was fixed... I had to set a hotkey up to open retro arch and configure the controller while a n64 rom is running... that fixed my issue .

      Assuming your controller has enough buttons to support all of the N64 buttons, all of those buttons are available by default if you configured all of the buttons on your controller during the initial gamepad detection. If you need to reconfigure it I recommend resetting your controller configuration in the Retropie system menu->Retropie Setup so that it prompts you again.

      Hello, I have not setup N64 in a while, but I remember there being an “AutoConfig” file of some sort that would overwrite my manual changes.

      I was able to update that file and it no longer imposes it’s will upon my setup. That may or may not apply to your GPIO setup but it is worth a look.

      EDIT: Totally missed your reference to that file. Sorry. I do believe that is the culprit though...

      @hophead05
      I also have the same problem and same controller. If I change to other n64-emulator the controller works but the emulation is slow.
